DRIP DROPS of HIP-HOP from CHATTANOOGA
By Sammy Lowdermilk
Nashville based artist D.O.U.G.H is back with new music with, "No More Free Sauce" and "Fun and Games," produced by Chris King (produced for Jaquees - Ex Games, Bryson Tiller - Rambo, Lecrae). This new music is the first taste of his upcoming 'Half-A-Dozen" EP dropping this summer, which will also be produced by Chris King.
We reached out to D.O.U.G.H. to learn a bit more about the up-and-coming artist in the Music City. "I really didn’t take music serious as an artist until 2011. Before then I had made a mixtape but was focused more on making beats. My name at first was Jawn Dough and Dough is actually comes from the mispronunciation of my last name which is Duo. Presently D.O.U.G.H. is an acronym that stands for Driven Only Under God’s Hands." D.O.U.G.H. tells us he makes music for those who haven't always walked the straight and narrow and are a 'work in progress.' He feels his music is for that college grad trying to navigate through life or those who work a 9 to 5 but still have ambition to make something of themselves.
The new EP isn't all that D.O.U.G.H. has coming in 2019. He plans to drop a visual for "No More Free Sauce" soon. Also, in his plans for this year, is hitting the road. "There are some cities and markets I would like to tap into. I’m also working behind the scenes with my team HGHR GRND to develop other talent in Middle TN."
Check out the new music below, and be on the lookout for the new EP as well as the visuals for "No More Free Sauce."
