More about ChucNova:

ChucNova born {Oct 21, 1990} an artist born and raised in Miami FL, is hitting the music industry with an entire different approach to music. Strikingly, the mixture of his caribbean-paradise culture style to songwriting and melodies is a welcoming breath of fresh air in todays genre of music. Chuc Nova has currently released his 1st single “BraveHearted” on all Streaming media platforms.

ChucNova, born Benel Jean to Haitian parents, who worked as ordained ministers, that regularly traveled between Haiti & Miami with Chuc Nova and his four older siblings usually residing for months at a time. Due to the constant traveling, he endured cultural adversity for being a black male born a Haitian in the violent crime prone streets of Miami FL. “I got kicked out of summer school at Morning Side Elementary…mom and dad felt I was being a hoodlum…so I got shipped off to Haiti”. To implement positive structure and to create a shift in their son’s attitude and behavior, his parents enrolled him into an American style school located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti called New American School, “I started hustling at a real young age. The caliber of kids that attended that school were 1st class kids…like the president’s kids…famous artist kids”.

ChucNova spent his childhood hanging out and exploring the streets of Haiti with his long-time friend Elvis Milord better known by his stage name Zoey Dolla$. After moving back to Miami and dealing with adversities that were out of his control, he entered his 10th grade year at Booker T Washington High School and was charged with 1st degree armed robbery. “I was 17 going on 18 when I caught my first charge and baby mama was pregnant…it wasn’t a good thing, but my daughter was born”, he remorsefully admits. Even though, he found himself in a dreadful, unsanitary, filthy place in Florida’s prison system he was determined to remain productive and optimistic in his new-found reality. “I found the only way to escape was to make music. I started off by just rapping A cappella. I would write books on top of books of poetry type shit and that’s where I met Michael Beasley, He taught me how to write a song and from there I just took off”.

After a three-year sentence he was placed on 1-year probation and was allowed to leave Miami Florida to live with an older brother in Austin Texas. He returned to Miami Florida upon completion of his probationary order with the confidence and readiness to put forth 100% effort to become a well productive member of society only to face barriers that are barricaded against those with criminal records. “It was hard for me to get and keep jobs. They would look at you dead in your face, probably allow you to work a week or two and then they’ll let you go for no reason. Music right now is my way out, I’ve always had an ear for music, writing music is therapeutic and you must take your time. The trials and tribulations I had to endure, I feel helped shape me as an artist. My mistakes from the past I wouldn’t take any of them back, I believe that you reap what you sow and its pleasing to know that you worked HARD for it. Lately I’ve been working with several producers, Redd and me established a company called 5th Element Entertainment & Productions and we got the best lawyer in Miami and setup the Business side. Now I believe it’s my moment to take over the music industry one single at a time”.
