I first met Jay Sle at C-Grimey’s Underground Mic nights at the The Spot. I definitely remember how he controlled the stage and just brought a whole new energy to the venue during his set. Later on, I found that he also produces music too; after seeing his name pop up a couple times lately on social media, I decided to reach out and get the story behind the artist. Where are you from? What area do you feel like you best represent?
Jay Sle: Chatt town aka The 9 aka the 423 add it up and you will see Shootanooga, Cashanooga Husltanooga, TN
Who've you been listening to a lot lately?
Jay Sle: Young Nudy, Young Scooter, Future, Gunna, Blocboy, 21, a lot of underground artist
Who are some of your current inspirations for making music?
Jay Sle: Young Scooter, Zaytoven and Gucci Mane
Who’s an artist that’s really slept on right now?
Jay Sle: Blueface, man got bars frfr
What sets you apart from other artists in the area?
Jay Sle: Because i make my own beat and I'm really living what I rap about.
Briefly take me through your process for creating music.
Jay Sle: Depends on how I'm felling because I could write or make the beat first but mostly freestyling and writing
What's probably the hardest line/bar you've spit?
Jay Sle: On my Burnup freestyle wit Waldo and Trey. I was like "when I pull up the whole hood know my name", everyone know me on Chatt I promise I can’t go nowhere without someone knowing me
What energy do you bring to live performances?
Jay Sle: I feel like I bring a hype energy performance.
.How'd the idea for your mobile booth happen?
Jay Sle: Shit, I was eager to produce and let people know I make beat and the type of traffic and the crowd it brings. Maduece didn't allow company so i got mobile wit it
What does music mean to you?
Jay Sle: It means alot, it keeps me live
What are some trends that you see happening in the local music scene?
Jay Sle: More local artist is getting feature from higher artists.
What things are you trying to change in the music scene?
Jay Sle: I’m tryna create my own genre.
What are some themes that you really focus on in your music?
Jay Sle: I focus on themes that I've went through and how it made me feel or changed me.
Do you have any goals you want to make happen this year?
Jay Sle: 3 goals I'm focused on is getting more promotion, keep a solid foundation, network more.
What message are you trying to send to your audience?
Jay Sle: That money is the key sometimes but i like to send out a message to face your fears jump of the porch hell cause you only live once only you can determine who you will become.

Jay Sle: Lil Baby or Gunna. I can see my self collabing wit BlocBoy JB
What advice would you give to someone starting in music/producing?
Jay Sle: Stay focused. Network and promote to meet your goals.
What are some victories that you had with your music/art?
Jay Sle: Paid shows and majoe beat sales and collabs
How would you best describe your brand/style?
Jay Sle: I have expensive taste so shit like American Fighter, Rockstar Original and Rock Revival
What are some other forms of media that inspire you? (Movies, art, TV, etc)
Jay Sle: Music videos and some movies like 50 cent make me be like that could be me in that position just keep working.
What do you want to be known for?
Jay Sle: I want to be know for a CEO because i can produce and get on the track but I’d like to conduct business as well I want to start my own record label and run other businesses.
